1. Overview. These Terms of Service govern your purchase and use of the Park Lantern device and associated data services. By purchasing or using Park Lantern, you agree to these terms.

2. Hardware Purchase. The Park Lantern hardware is sold as a one-time purchase of $175 USD, which includes the 15.6-inch touchscreen display and one year of data service. Shipping is $9.99 to the continental United States (insured). International shipping rates vary; contact support@parklantern.com for a quote.

3. Subscription Service. After the first year, an annual subscription of $50 USD is required to maintain access to live park data, weather, show times, dining information, and trip countdown features. Without an active subscription, the device continues to function as a branded digital clock displaying the Park Lantern castle logo. You may resubscribe at any time to restore full functionality.

4. Activation. Each device requires activation using an 8-character code provided at purchase. Activation codes are single-use and tied to one device. If you need to transfer your subscription to a replacement device, contact support@parklantern.com.

5. Returns & Refunds. You may return your Park Lantern within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. The device must be returned in its original packaging. Contact support@parklantern.com to initiate a return; we will provide a prepaid return shipping label. Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days of receiving the returned device.

6. Warranty. Park Lantern hardware is covered by a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. This warranty does not cover damage from drops, liquid exposure, or unauthorized modifications. If your device is defective, contact support@parklantern.com with a photo and your order number for a replacement.

7. Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal (accessible via the QR code on your device) or by emailing support@parklantern.com. Your service continues until the end of the current paid period. No partial refunds are issued for unused subscription time.

8. Data Sources. Park Lantern aggregates data from third-party sources including Queue-Times.com, ThemeParks.wiki, and OpenWeatherMap. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this data. Wait times, show schedules, and park hours are provided as-is and may differ from official park information.

9. Privacy. Your use of Park Lantern is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We collect minimal data necessary to operate the service.

10. Intellectual Property. Park Lantern is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Walt Disney Company or any theme park operator. All park names and trademarks are the property of their respective owners.

11. Limitation of Liability. Park Lantern is provided as-is. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the device or service, including but not limited to missed show times, inaccurate wait time estimates, or service interruptions.

12. Changes to These Terms. We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to the address associated with your subscription. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
